In Medieval Times there was a big price to pay if you did not do the right thing. For example if you were to break one of the numerous amount of laws you would get burnt alive, which is the usual punishment for witchcraft, having your ears or hands cut off and your nose slit, being dragged around town with rotting fish hung around your neck, sitting in the stocks (a wooden trap) and being pelted with rubbish and also whipping, hanging, beheading –nobles could choose beheading. So if I were someone travelling in the medieval times and committed a crime I would be quite scared. I would recommend sticking with the rules no matter how silly they are because if you do commit a crime you are going to be in a lot of trouble.
